Sankara Alafia was born on October 30, 1979, in the Republic of Benin. He is a Nigerian footballer who currently plays as a striker for the Egyptian club Zamalek SC. Sankara started his career playing for the local side Elmina Castle before moving to Egypt to play for Arab Contractors and then Zamalek. In 2006, he moved to Qatar club Al-Arabi SC. After one year with Al-Arabi, he returned to Zamalek in 2007. In 2009, he joined the Tunisian side Club Africain. He signed with Belgian side Standard Liège in July 2011 and spent two seasons with them before signing with Turkish club Beşiktaş JK in May 2014.
